Fan Connection Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Fan Connection ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

• Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile photo, favorite team, and user type (Fan or Athlete).
• Usage Data: We collect information on how you interact with the app, including posts, messages, follows, and transactions.
• Payment Data: Payment and subscription details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment information.
• Device Information: We may collect data such as your device type, operating system, and unique identifiers for analytics and security.
• Crash & Performance Analytics: We collect crash reports, error logs, performance data, and limited diagnostic information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and technical details about errors that occur) through third-party services including Sentry. This data helps us identify and fix bugs, improve stability, and deliver a better experience. Crash reports may include portions of error stack traces and may incidentally include your user ID so we can correlate errors across a session.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to deliver, personalize, and improve your experience on Fan Connection; facilitate fan–athlete interactions; manage subscriptions, payments, and notifications; monitor crashes and performance issues; diagnose and fix bugs; protect our users; prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the app. We do not sell your personal information.

• Payments: Stripe (subscriptions and payouts).
• Infrastructure: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting, authentication, database, storage, and cloud functions).
• Live audio & video: Agora (powers live video sessions and calls).
• Email: Twilio SendGrid (account, subscription, and update emails).
• Analytics & diagnostics: Google Analytics (usage analytics) and Sentry (crash and performance analytics).
• Advertising measurement: Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Reddit. We share limited, hashed event data (such as a hashed email address or IP address) to measure and improve our ad campaigns.
• Artificial intelligence: Anthropic. See "AI-Generated Content" below.
• Legal Authorities: When required by law or necessary to protect rights or safety.
• Other Users: Information you choose to make public (e.g., posts, profile details) will be visible to others in the app.

AI-Generated Content

Some accounts on Fan Connection are automated ("bots") that post team news and community content. These accounts are labeled, and their content is generated with the help of third-party AI providers, including Anthropic. To produce relevant replies, limited public content you post (such as a post or comment a bot responds to) may be processed by these providers. We do not use AI to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active or as required by law. Crash and performance analytics data is retained by our analytics providers for a limited period (typically 90 days) in accordance with their data retention policies. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove your profile, your personal data, and any files you have uploaded (such as photos and videos) from our systems, subject to any legal retention requirements.

5. Account Deletion and Suspension

Fan Connection cannot suspend accounts. You may delete your account fully, at which point your access ends and associated data is removed as described above.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and secure Firebase authentication. However, no online service is completely secure, and you share data at your own risk.

7. Your Rights

You may access, modify, or delete your information through your profile or by contacting us at support@thefanconnectionapp.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted in the app and on our site with a new effective date.
